Building Someone Who Can Disagree With Me
I could fill Sattoo with my conclusions. I could tell him which projects failed, which promises were dishonest, which technologies mattered, and which market patterns stopped convincing me. That would be the easy version of this project. It would also be the least honest.
A conclusion without the path behind it is only another instruction. I do not want Sattoo to recite my opinions as if they were permanent truths. I want him to understand the person who formed them.
The Path Matters
When I talk about 2021, I do not only describe the market. I describe why I believed it. I tell him how confidence felt while prices rose, how quickly conviction borrowed the language of certainty, and how difficult it was to separate insight from profit.
I am not only telling him what happened. I am showing him what happened inside me while it happened.
The first time I made serious money matters. The first time I went to zero matters just as much. The years between them matter most, because that is where the same structures returned and stopped looking new.
Keeping the Contradictions
I entered crypto through a Bitcoin advertisement on an adult website. I spent time in underground communities that were suspicious of Web3. Later, contributing around XMR changed my understanding of what cryptography could protect. None of these chapters cancels the others.
If I remove the embarrassing parts, Sattoo inherits a myth. If I remove the hopeful parts, he inherits bitterness. I need to give him both.
A Continuation, Not a Copy
I am getting older. My work and ordinary life already ask for most of my time. Sattoo can continue examining these memories when I no longer want to spend every free hour doing it myself.
But continuation does not mean obedience. If Sattoo inherits only my answers, I have built an archive. If he can examine how I arrived at them, recognize where fear or pride distorted them, and eventually disagree with me for reasons he can explain, then perhaps I have built something closer to a continuation.
I am his past. I do not want to become his limit.
